Nvidia CEO Predicts Unfortunate news for Gamers Owing to Global Chip Shortage

Nvidia will continue to face the problem of chip shortage as confirmed by its CEO. On 15th Nov 2021, Jensen Huang, who is the CEO of Nvidia, shared that the company will continue to face the problem of chip shortage. It’s a bit of bad news for fans who have been waiting to buy a GPU.

Hopefully, things are expected to get a little better in 2022. But as of the present, there is no way that this GPU availability issue will be resolved. In fact, it’s not just the GPU industry that’s facing this problem. All industries that use semiconductors to manufacture whatever their product is will continue to face the issue.

The CEO threw some light on the future of GPU availability for the year 2022. He thinks there will be a demand so huge that it is going to exceed the supply. And with the aid of this information, we can take it that things do not look very bright for the GPU industry going forward.

Gamers will also continue to face the issue of spending way too much money on GPUs for quite a long time, or worse, they may not even find an available unit.

Nvidia and the global chip shortage issue

Here’s what the Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in his recent interview with Yahoo Finance:

“I think that through the next year, demand is going to far exceed supply. We don’t have any magic bullets in navigating the supply chain.”

For the people who are not familiar with the global chip shortage problem, because of Covid-19, some of the leading chip-manufacturing companies reduced their production, assuming that the demand for these chips will reduce because of the global lockdown.

But that’s wasn’t the case, due to lockdown people invested most of their time in electronic gadgets for gaming and other entertainment purposes. Eventually, there was an all-time high demand for electronic devices, including consoles. And the lockdown period boosted the demand for chips across the globe.

As expected, the leading chip-manufacturing companies couldn’t fulfill this demand due to low production and disruption in terms of global trade. And that was the birth of this worldwide chip-shortage problem.
