It seems like Kick‘s acquisition of xQc is a deal that’s going to yield a lot of revenue to the green platform. The Canadian recently announced his decision to join Kick after Twitch’s controversial streaming regulations irked him. As a result, the popular Overwatch streamer signed a deal worth $100 million with the up-and-coming streaming platform. The staggering amount made xQc’s worth to be equivalent to many traditional athletes. Now it looks like the action is much more beneficial to Kick than initially anticipated.

Recent statistics show xQc’s first few streams on Kick are already creating a whirlpool and Kick’s viewership numbers have skyrocketed significantly.

xQc announced his step over to Kick last Friday and went live on Saturday. The popular streamer has a long history on Twitch. Since 2020, xQc was the most-watched streamer on the Amazon-owned platform. However, as Twitch announced their policy changes in April, xQc was among many streamers who expressed their discontent. The purple platform’s sponsored content streaming policies made many streamers, including xQc and MrBeast, announce that they will be shifting their working bases somewhere else.

As one of the most sought-after streamers, xQc is now proving his worth by boosting Kick’s viewership drastically. The first stream uploaded by xQc saw a massive 66k PV. However, Kick’s streaming numbers increased further to reach an all-time high with the streamer’s next video, which was viewed by a staggering 86 thousand users. With the second video, Kick reached 458.3K Peak Viewers, surpassing the platform’s previous peak viewers number by 19%.

Kick breaks through industry expectations

Thanks to xQc, Kick has become the 5th most streamed platform globally. It seems that Twitch’s policy change proposals are only benefitting Kick, as Twitch also suffered a significant loss of viewers. Even though YouTube sits atop the throne of the most viewed streaming platform, xQc backing up Kick seems to be a historic occasion for the platform. A recent Twitter post confirmed Kick’s performance after xQc’s debut on the platform.

Despite the outspoken nature of xQc, he has always enjoyed a satisfactory level of popularity within the community. His decision to switch over to Kick has brought his fans curious to explore the nook and crannies of the green platform. Even though xQc’s deal with Kick is not exclusive and he has the option to continue streaming his content on both Twitch and Kick, Kick is expected to continue making the bulk of the profit thanks to its deal with the streamer.
