September 18, 2022, marked the day of the biggest gaming leak in the history of eSports. Back then, this massive GTA 6 leak had taken the internet by storm. Moreover, the speculations around the next release of the Grand Theft Auto series were all over the media trends. Unfortunately, a year after being subjected to insights into GTA 6, the wait continues. 

The alleged leak had over 90 clips that revealed a lot about what the next GTA project was about. The label being among the most celebrated gaming franchises in the industry had been silent on any development progress. While the developers’ approach still stands the same, gamers are revisiting the infamous leak after rumors of GTA 6 as the buzz around the game announcement is at an all-time high

For a game having a fan base of the scale of Grand Theft Auto, leaks and fan theories are unavoidable. However, a year back marked what gamers associate as the biggest hacking episode in eSporting history. A hacker named ‘teapotuberhacker’ posted a link to GTAForums containing 90 early-in-development clips of the new Grand Theft Auto. He obtained these assets by means of social engineering his way into a private Rockstar Slack communication channel.

As the leak went viral across the internet, fans were highly impressed with the promising looks of GTA 6. Most of the fans were astonished by the details and visuals the underdevelopment project offered through the leaked glimpse. Although there was no official response made to the leaks, making the leaks a chapter in fan theories for the upcoming giant. But it certainly sparked heat as fans felt the game seemed to be in the final phase of production from the looks of the pictures. Well, surprisingly the game still remains tagged as an ‘under development’ project. 

It goes without saying that there has been some significant progress in the rumors around GTA 6. The latest fan theories have been more convincing than ever. For instance, the Take-Two fiscal report ignited some rational possibilities around the launch. According to the analytical data provided by the Fiscal report, a release window between next year to early 2025 before March seemed an ideal one.

From sounds, and vehicles to additional new mechanics, there’s an upgrade attempted at every possible feature in the successor of GTA V. The infamous GTA 6 hack revealed that the game will have a female and male protagonist and that the plot will be inspired by Bonnie and Clyde. This implies that the plot will allegedly revolve around a couple who are on the run from the law following a series of heists, which sounds very GTA.

Also, Vice City wouldn’t be the main focus because Florida as a whole would be engaged. In that case, they assert, the map would be the combined size of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, and it would be set in a contemporary version of Miami. It is important to note that all these mentions are based on leaks around the title and haven’t been given any confirmation by the makers.

All these alleged claims have only fueled what seems to already sky-high expectations with the game. Recently, GTA V completed its ten-year anniversary and fans believe there’s no better time to officially tease the ‘most expensive gaming product of all time.’
