The former Call of Duty pro who once played for OpTic Gaming became a leading figure not just in the North American scene, but all over the world. After leaving OpTic Gaming, Nadeshot created the 100 Thieves organization. However, this does not mean a return to competitive Call of Duty is out of the question for Nadeshot.

Recent developments suggest former Call of Duty pro and 100 Thieves CEO Nadeshot may be returning to OpTic. The rumors of his return emerged after an incident between Nadeshot and the LA Thieves Twitter account saw a heated exchange ensue.

Nadeshot was once among the top-tier players in Call of Duty. Back in 2010, he signed with OpTic as part of their Call of Duty squad. During this time, he guided the team to hard-fought victories as they dominated the scene for the next few years. But in 2016, he announced his decision to part ways with the team.

His departure did not mean the end of his road in gaming. With a considerable amount of resources, Nadeshot founded 100 Thieves. The organization grew quite a bit, expanding into content creation as well as its own Esports teams. But despite his success with 100 Thieves, Nadeshot might just return to OpTic for another stint in Call of Duty. A recent Twitter post is behind all the rumors.

It all started when Nadeshot posted pictures of his wedding after he married his longtime girlfriend Haley Hey. To the tweet, the LA Thieves account replied, saying, “Bro finally got a ring”. This was in reference to the Call of Duty Championship winners’ ring. Nadeshot had not won one yet. What most fans thought was harmless banter escalated quickly as Nadeshot hit back at the team.

This sparked a major controversy among fans, especially since the LA Thieves is part of the 100 Thieves brand. Nadeshot alluded to the team’s monetary struggle, despite winning titles in the last season. It culminated with major changes to the team amidst the financial crisis. It brought the question of whether Nadeshot will return to OpTic Gaming and mark a return to competitive Call of Duty. Fans certainly hope he does.

Fans want to see Nadeshot back at OpTic. The time was one of the greatest in competitive Call of Duty’s history. Nadeshot remains one of the best players in Call of Duty’s Esports scene, and a return to OpTic might just be what he needs. Some fans may remember, Nadeshot was one of the members of OpTic during the iconic van moment from Black Ops 2.

Fans addressed the complexity of the situation. On one hand, it means 100 Thieves will lose an individual who continually puts a lot of time and effort into the organization’s growth. On the other, it marks the return of one of the best Call of Duty players in the scene.

While speculation continues, what really makes it plausible is Nadeshot’s comments from 2022. He expressed his regret about leaving OpTic Gaming. At the time, according to Nadeshot, he let money cloud his choice of leaving OpTic. However, over the years, he created his own organization and with his finances looking stable, a return to OpTic might just be an option.
