Neuss did not explain the changes that they are bringing in the next season. But, it surely is aimed to give a fresh touch to the current reward system. His vague remarks are hopes for the fans that the current reward system will surely get revamped.

This is yet unclear, and there have been no rumors or leaks regarding these. A battle pass like Activision’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2 would be a good addition to Overwatch. In those games, players are given the option to forge a path to their desired items.
