While it seemed like everything was going right with this console, a rumor dropped that claimed keeping PlayStation 5 vertically might damage it permanently. Turns out there’s a twist to that tale!

A while ago a report came from Wololo.net that claimed any PlayStation console kept vertically, be it boxed ones in stores or unboxed ones in your living rooms can end up with permanent damage of sorts.

They tweeted specifically saying “There was a critical misunderstanding on our end when we thought TheCod3r said the Liquid Metal problem happened on unopened, in-box PS5s. What he said was PS5s that had not been opened by other repair shops prior to him.”.
This just means that a PlayStation 5 console’s liquid metal has a chance to leak out of the APU casing. But there are very less chances of it happening in a real-world scenario. The second thing is there’s no way it can happen on a factory-sealed console. It would be very damaging if Sony just deliberately ships out consoles packed in a manner that can reduce their life which certainly seems possible to be ever done from their end.
