PlayStation made a plethora of announcements at the recent Showcase earlier this month, with major updates about titles such as God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West.

Sony has a lot of plans for its consoles and their future. And regarding this, the PlayStation boss, Jim Ryan, will be providing updates soon next month.

PlayStation boss Jim Ryan to go LIVE in October

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO and President Jim Ryan will be the speaker at GI LIVE: London on October 7th, 2021. GameIndustry.biz has revealed that a pre-recorded speech will be aired at approximately 9AM PT/12PM ET/5PM BST and will offer some crucial insights from Ryan’s perspective.

Those interested can view the event online or in person. The event is scheduled alongside EGX at the Excel Centre London from October 6 to October 8.

Ryan’s inclusion as one of the featured speakers will offer several fans and enthusiasts an amazing opportunity to hear the PlayStation boss give his perspective on several topics related to the console and gaming franchises associated with it. Last time when Ryan spoke about PlayStation and its future, he reaffirmed that Sony had plans to release plenty of exclusives and new games for PS5 over the coming years.

Ryan, in his previous interviews, had mentioned the importance of IPs contributing to the success of Sony’s gaming endeavor and had said, “New IP is the lifeblood of any entertainment industry, but it is very difficult to create a new IP… I am very happy that we can do this in the past few years, but it requires great courage and the courage to bear financial risks. It also requires trust in the studio.”  

There is also the chance that fans may get to learn about updates regarding some new IPs or exclusives on the way to the next-gen consoles.

Alongside Ryan, Valve is one of the featured speakers for this event and will host a Q&A about Steam and Steam Deck. There are other speakers as well, which include Warner Music, Sega, and more.
