The heroics of Spider-Man have moved beyond the boundaries of New York! Spidey saved the day, but this time he was far from home (further than the MCU movie took him). In one of the latest genius marketing efforts, Sony has left all webheads super impressed. The console giants have celebrated the highly-awaited release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the textbook style!

After a wave of speculations and excitement, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 finally hit the markets today on October 20. While the PlayStation fans around the world are finding ways to celebrate the big launch in their own ways, PlayStation went big again, this time in Australia.

PlayStation Australia, in collaboration with Akcelo and creative PR agency, Poem has placed arguably the best possible attraction for webheads. Celebrating the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 across the globe, the partners have tried to create an iconic Spidey save that fans might recall from plenty of Spider-Man features. One that comes to mind is the scene in Spider-Man on the ps4. In that game, Spider-Man had to chase the demons who were in a helicopter. And when it went down, players had to web it up to top it from crashing into the streets.

There is another scene in Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 where a car topples and almost falls on civilians, but is stopped by Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman who webs it just in time. And of course, who can forget the iconic train scene in the same movie, which by the way also got a nod in 2018’s Spider-Man on the PS4.

Now in similar fashion, advertisers have dropped a truck in Watermans Cove in Barangaroo, Sydney. The truck seems to have been safely webbed up by the superhero himself and will remain suspended in mid-air until Sunday at 4 p.m. Fans can get to the spot and have some pictures along what’s being called the “Spectacular Save.” Also, if you plan to make a visit to the place, try to plan it at night as there’s a little treat involving an iconic Spidey villain as well.

For all those wondering, the night feature on the truck involves a cheeky Venom projection as well.

For so many of us, Spider-Man is the kind of IP you only ever dream of working on. With this activation we wanted to give a taste of the high stakes action and blockbuster fun you’ll enjoy within the game itself. Bringing this epic gaming experience to life together with the PlayStation team has been an absolute thrill,” Aden Hepburn, the CEO of Ackelo, stated after the stunt went viral across the web.

Even for Spider-Man 2, this isn’t the first time Sony has gone big. They had 3D billboard ads in NYC, LA, and Toronto. Further, they teamed up with Adidas to design Spider-Man themed Adidas Sneakers. Then there’s the limited edition wheaties box. Fans also had the chance at getting the limited edition themed PS5 console. And let’s not forget 19 inches of Venom!
