PlayStation Exclusive Inspired ‘Uncharted’ Movie Trailer Will Be Revealed Sooner than Expected

If rumors are to be believed, the Uncharted Movie trailer might be revealed sooner than expected. Uncharted is a much-loved series developed by Naughty Dog and has been running for 15 years now. The game, created by Amy Hennig, involves the protagonist Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter, and focuses on his adventures across the globe.

The Uncharted game has enough content to be made into a movie, and according to New York Times, Sony might be spending around $120 million on this movie.

The film will be the first from the brand new studio, The PlayStation Productions. The movie is supposed to be a prequel to the Uncharted game plot. It has a star-studded cast including Tom Holland, Sophia Taylor Ali, Tati Gabrielle, Antonio Banderas, and Mark Wahlberg. One tweet reveals that the trailer is finished and the movie will show an interesting chemistry between Drake and Sullivan.

PlayStation Studios seems set to achieve three objectives: increase audience outreach for games, bring products to Sony Pictures, and Showcase collaboration. This was explained by the studio head, Asad Qizilbash, as reported by New York Times.

Previously, video game movie adaptations like Mortal Kombat have attained high critical acclaim and an overwhelming response from fans. However, other films like Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Mario Bros failed to profoundly impact the fans.

This movie will be out in early 2022 due to a recent delay. The expected date of release would be between February 11 to February 18, 2022. The movie will also be coming to Netflix all thanks to a new deal allowing Netflix rights to stream Sony’s theatrical releases. However, the film won’t be on OTT platforms at the same time as the theater release and will be available within two years of theatrical release.

Fans are excited to watch Tom Holland play Nathan Drake in the theatres when this movie releases.
