After months of speculations and rumors, Sony finally announced another studio acquisition- Bluepoint Games (devs of Demon Soul remake for PS 5). Both the studios have worked closely with each other for years now. Recently, Sony confirmed that the Demon Soul remake for PlayStation 5 has sold over 1.5 million copies since release (November 2020), which is quite impressive.

PlayStation’s official Twitter handle introduced the next member of the PlayStation family. According to both the studios, this acquisition is mutually beneficial to produce the best work. Bluepoint Games has worked on some of the most successful and popular titles for PlayStation such as Uncharted, Demon Soul Remake, and Shadow of the Colossus. It is clearly no surprise that eventually Sony scooped up the Studio. This is Sony’s third acquisition this year, including Nixxes and Housemarque.

According to Bluepoint Studios, PlayStation has an iconic gaming catalog, and becoming a part of it is very empowering. The studio also highlighted the point that their team is extremely skilled and experienced. They have an original game development mindset and the team is finally all ready to push Sony forward and show what incredible things PlayStation can do.
