So far, PlayStation has improved upon its collection of games for the PS5 compared to its predecessor. Most of these are typical first-party single-player games from Sony. While PlayStation has made it clear that it wants to grow its multiplayer collection, it seems like this will be a separate project from the development of its single-player games. Sequels to The Last of Us, Horizon, and Spider-Man could very easily have downloadable multiplayer modes. This would extend the life of these games beyond that of the single-player story.

Sony recently acquired Finnish developer, Housemarque, for its development team. They recently worked on the breathtaking title Returnal and will be hoping to re-create similar hits for Sony.
