

The new and revamped version of Sony’s ambitious PlayStation Plus service is now live in Japan. Ahead of its debut in other countries, the subscription service has already made its debut in its home country.

As the PlayStation Plus has gone live now in Japan, Sony also revealed an extensive list of many titles coming for the players living in the Asian nation. However, the biggest reason to subscribe, for many of them, might be a major feature for older games, which was just confirmed following unfavorable reactions from the fans last month.
Sony brings back 60 Hz support for older PS classics on the newly launched PlayStation Plus
As is already known, the PS Plus is a refreshed version of the existing subscription service. The difference is that the new version boasts various options for the players who want multiple features and exclusivity in accessing the games. There is an Essential Tier, an Extra tier, and lastly the Premium Tier.

According to VGC, Sony just rolled out PlayStation Plus in Japan, ahead of its global launch in other nations. With the Japanese release, the company also confirmed some of the new titles and NTSC versions of the PS1 classics as well.

Speaking of the older PlayStation One games, then they will run in the NTSC 60hz format. That’s because Sony has now decided to go with the original Japanese versions of the past titles. It wasn’t the case a month ago when the PlayStation maker had announced a 50hz PAL format for them.
However, following the unhappiness of the fans, Sony has now brought back the support of 60hz for older classics.

Meanwhile, western countries in North America and Europe will witness the launch of PlayStation Plus on June 13 and June 22 respectively.
