PlayStation Studio Head Commits to Bringing More Exclusives to PC Following Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone Success

PlayStation studio saw Herman Hults taking over the leadership 17 months ago. The studio has made some groundbreaking decisions, which saw a prominent title like Horizon Zero Dawn making its way into PC. This decision has allowed them to explore the PC market, as the studio saw a brilliant response.

Recently, PS4’s hit title Days Gone also made its way into PC, and it produced similar results. This serves as a potential market for the studio, as Herman sheds light on things to come.

PlayStation head spoke about their future in the PC market

Herman Hulst sat down for an interview to speak about the future of PS4 and PS5. He suggested that the move to enter the PC market has only produced astonishing results. The studio is in its nascent stage with the PC market, and they do value PC gamers and what they bring to the table.

However, he reassured that PlayStation consoles remain to be the greatest platform to enjoy their titles. Safe to say, PC gamers can expect to see more prominent titles making its ways, as the studio is looking to expand its market.

“We’re still early on in our planning for PC. And Horizon Zero Dawn has been very successful. I think it shows there’s an appetite from gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem to experience the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years.

But I want to emphasize that PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation Studios titles at launch. But we do value PC gamers, and we’ll continue to look at the right times to launch each game. Bend Studio just released the PC version of Days Gone on May 18. So that’s about two years after the PS4 release.

And I hope that a new set of fans can and will enjoy that title. And that’s the goal — we want to reach new gamers who haven’t yet experienced the great stories, characters, and worlds that we’ve built. Releasing games on PC will not come ever at the expense of building an exciting lineup of great console games.”
