The world is keeping its eyes wide open to see what will this massive hour-long event bring to the plate. Amidst these, reports are indicating the arrival of a Metal Gear Solid remake into the showcase. This might as well be an exclusive approach by the console brand.

PlayStation exclusive showcase may feature a Metal Gear Solid remake

Through the course of gaming history, we have seen countless brands rise to the top to become fan favorites. Without a doubt, Metal Gear would likely be on the list for many games. The Konami gaming franchise is supposedly in talks with PlayStation for a feature at the May 2023 showcase.

Though the titles under the Metal Gear Solid franchise have been released across platforms, it seems that there were talks regarding an exclusive PlayStation showdown. Some reports indicate that the May showcase will feature the arrival of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater remake, and it might as well be a PlayStation exclusive.

But on the other hand, there are counter reports that state that Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater remake might not actually be a PlayStation exclusive.  According to sources close to Insider Gaming, it is stated that the aforementioned Metal Gear Solid game would likely arrive across platforms, but the PlayStation version might have some exclusive rights.

This means that even though the game would be available for people using other consoles and devices, PlayStation will have some restricted DLC material available for its players. This is sort of similar to the case of Hogwarts Legacy. PlayStation had some leeway with the wizarding game, and there was even exclusive in-game content for PS players. Some might even have thought Hogwarts Legacy was a PlayStation exclusive.

Nevertheless, this helped Sony sell more PlayStation consoles during the run of Hogwarts Legacy. Thus, the attempt to bring the Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater remake into the console may as well be to cater to that marketing strategy. However, an official confirmation has not yet been made. But it would be interesting to see Konami and PlayStation joining hands to bring the game into the platform with exclusive content.
