Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is only a few months away from releasing. Fans are eagerly waiting to get their hands on these much-awaited games. However, Pokemon has recently revealed new functions in the game that will improve competitive play and increase the hype among friends.

It’s been over 26 years since the first Pokemon video game came out. It became a significant hit that Pokemon got various movies and anime adaptations. Now, Nintendo is looking forward to the next two titles, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, which will release on November 18. These two games would be the first ninth-generation Pokemon games.

What is new in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet competitive play?

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have always planned to offer something new with their Pocket Monster games. This year too, they are releasing lots of new things with the games, like new characters, gameplay, plot, and Pokemons. However, the developers also introduced a new boost-up mode called, Terastal forms, this year.

However, that’s not everything developers have for the fans, as the developers shared a new competitive gameplay trailer to reveal more new things from the game. The trailer showed a new Dragon/Normal type Pokemon called Cyclizar, which can be a potential pre-evolution form of Koraidon and Miraidon.

Further, this game would feature a new move called Shed Tail, where a Pokemon substitute itself with the next Pokemon in the party. Then both games would feature a new item, Mirro Herb, that copies an opponent’s increased stat upon consuming it. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will have another new item called loaded dice, making multistrike moves more likely to hit more times.

The biggest game changer of this game would be Terastalizing, where a Pokemon would have a crystal-like appearance around it. This boost-up can change a Pokemon’s type. So a Fire-type Pokemon can end up becoming a Water-type upon Terastalizing. This boost-up will also offer a move called Tera Blast, and its type will depend on a Pokemon’s Terra type.

What are new Pokemon games about?

The upcoming two Pokemon games will be set in the Paldea Region, where the players will take on the role of a prestigious academy student. Players would have three ways to continue their story in-game, one of which is the classic Pokemon trainer journey.
