

Nintendo recently released its official revenue figures generated through its hardware and software in the last year, which was 2021. And two Pokemon games in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl emerged as the best opening remakes in the iconic series.

In fact, the 2021 remakes are now on course to become the best-selling Pokemon remake titles for Nintendo. The latter revealed massive sales for both these titles combined.

And together, they even outsold the company’s previously hit offering Ring Fit Adventure, which launched in 2019.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl become best-selling 2021 remakes for Nintendo
Speaking of the numbers, then the two remakes from 2021 sold a total of 13.97 million units. What’s even more interesting to note is that they made their debuts on November 19. This implies that just under the span of three months, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl sold so many copies combined for Nintendo.

With that, both these remakes also become Nintendo’s ninth highest-selling first-party games on the Switch. Moreover, they are just a million copies away from overtaking Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu.

Furthermore, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl also dominated Ring Fit Adventure, the title that was initially launched in 2019. It’s the first time in two years that RFA registered fewer sales. Still, having sold 13.53 million units is not a minor achievement.

Meanwhile, all Nintendo lovers are currently having lots of fun, especially with the Pokemon franchise in its entirety. Last month saw the debut of awaited title Arceus that has been performing very well so far. Critics have given it a thumbs up while fans have mostly liked it in terms of the gameplay.
This year is not done yet, though, to have brand new Nintendo releases. Upcoming months will see more potential blockbusters such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and Bayonetta 3.
