HBO series ‘The Last of Us‘ has been having an extravagant ride in the video gaming and cinema industry. This video game title by Naughty Dog has already done a marvelous job of enticing gamers to a post-apocalyptic world. And certainly, its cinematic adaptation is doing wonders in replicating it. However, it seems the lead actor Pedro Pascal was afraid of doing the series.
Playing the role of Joel, Pascal embodies the traits of the character with perfection. From the first ever episode, he has the fans gripped by putting up a stargazing performance. Moreover, the last episode broke another record for the series. Seeing the greater success, one wonders why an experienced actor like Pascal was afraid of doing the TLOU series.

After entertaining the audience with his feature on Saturday Night Live, Pascal was welcomed on the show, ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers.” The two personalities talked about how Pascal’s SNL experience and his journey in the TLOU series. Talking of TLOU, Meyers asked, “Are you surprised, taken aback by how, you know, this [The Last of Us] has become one of these event shows that people want to watch when it comes out so they can talk about it?”
To this, Pascal replied, “I knew the game was a really big deal. And I was really scared and just presumed that the adaptation wouldn’t work, not because it’s been tricky adapting video games into television shows or movies or anything like that, but because, I don’t know, everyone loved it so much.” Thereby, the uproaring video game adaptation curse wasn’t the fear factor for the actor.

He continued by comparing his experience with TLOU and The Mandalorian, “When I saw all of the story illustrations for ‘The Mandalorian’, I was like, ‘This is gonna be a hit.’ But, I guess, in this one [TLOU], you have to see my face.” Bursting into laughter, he shared a comic moment with the audience.

To erase this fear of his, Meyers brought a side-by-side comparison with the in-game character Joel and Pascal’s appearance. Moreover, the fans cheered for the near-perfect casting of Pascal in the series.
