After SM2, Call Of Duty again banned another project of the X Labs team, and fans are not ready to accept the truth.

The modding community has always looked out to get the best from video games. They tried to collaborate two worlds, let alone allow fans to enjoy their favorites across different titles. For instance, an avid modder added Kratos to Marvel’s Spider-Man. It was far unusual to see the God Of War shoot webs and solve crimes but felt somewhat interesting. So, the community always adored their work and looked forward to more titles.

X Labs, a franchise specializing in making Call Of Duty games, recently stormed the market. They had plans to revive some of the iconic games until Activision decided to shut them down. Still, they had hope with one project left, but again, the franchise slammed them with a cease and desist.

Another Call of Duty X Labs project is going down the drain

A few days back, the eSports world learned about X Labs, a company on a mission to revive Call Of Duty games. Their first project extended to titles like Modern Warfare 2, Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, and Black Ops 3. But after Activision learned about it, they instantly shut them down, as the project had legal issues.

After all, the COD project meant a revival of the dedicated servers, improved security, anti-cheat, mods, and more. However, the cost was high as it meant using Activision’s property. And well, they could not accept it, canceling the project. This stunned the eSports world, as they would now be deprived of not one but four iconic games. So, fans hoped that Activision does not eye the remaining ones.

But Activision being Activision, slammed them with another cease and desist. Jake Lucky, the popular eSports journalist, was the first to report this as he revealed it in his recent tweet. In his May 23 Twitter post, he said, “Activision has cease and desisted another Call of Duty project team with X Labs, following the same with SM2 just days ago. Meaning practically no more safe options to play the old CoD titles you truly loved.”

Again, the community did not handle this well, as they shared their feelings in the comment section. Here’s what they had to say about the news.

Last but not least, the cancellation of yet another X Labs Call Of Duty project has the company in an awkward spot. After all, they had been working for months only to see the smile on their fan’s faces, but we guess that’s not happening soon.
