Now some trusted insiders revealed the actual case and almost surprisingly Sony has nothing to do with it. In fact, Sony’s acquisition might have helped the Destiny makers to survive. Did Sony help Bungie to survive during the financial crisis?

Bungie’s massive layoff pointed many fingers toward Sony. However, a trusted source revealed something completely different than what fans expected. An insider of the company itself said that CEO Pete Parsons along with executives gave away their bonuses to avoid layoffs. However, no Bungie staff had the slightest clue about it before. This employee further added that Sony didn’t take part in the layoff situation but it helped Bungie to recover after an insignificant response following Destiny 2’s release. Surprised isn’t it?

Previously Sony mentioned dropping 1.2 billion extra to ensure Bungie’s employee retention. However, that didn’t go too well.  According to this insider,  Bungie is currently not holding Joe Blackburn, the director of Destiny 2 as the main culprit of the situation. But, Sony’s dedicated $1.2 billion was spent time ago in buying out employee shares for transforming into Sony’s.

The employee also mentioned Bungie’s new expensive building was also audited beforehand. It wasn’t enough to ensure employee retention. However, the most interesting part of the information was ex-Bungie employees’ anger for leadership and not Sony.

Destiny 2 creator’s recent layoff not only caused controversies but drove its ex-employees to a completely depressing stage. Recently an ex-Bungie employee tweeted sharing their unfortunate moment of losing a job during the Holiday season. Now after their revelation, fans are utterly shocked to see the true status of the Esports industry. After this ex-employee statement, an insider revealed more details. For example, many employees knew about their colleagues’ layoffs and they were restricted from letting them know. Authorities simply revoked the email addresses to lay them off.

Bungie’s recent layoff situation didn’t leave team leaders or managers in peace. Many team leads didn’t know about the teammates until the final decision was made.
