It all began in October 2019 when YouTubers MrBeast and NASA engineer Mark Rober launched the campaign “#TeamTrees” with the goal of raising $20 million by December end. Not only did they achieve this goal, but also surpassed the $20 million amount within the set timeframe. Thanks to massive donations from popular content creators, tech giants, industry leaders, and many renowned companies.

A brief summary of “#TeamTrees”. The campaign aims to plant one tree for every dollar received. All money raised will go to the renowned Arbor Day Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to planting trees. In fact, they pledged to plant all 20 million trees by December 2020. Surprisingly, today, in 2022, the “#TeamTrees” boasts a total donation amount of over a whopping $23 million.

Two months after the “#TeamTrees” launch, on Dec 20, 2019. MrBeast tweeted about the campaign’s success, congratulating all donors.

Through the caption, Jimmy expressed: “We did it!! Thank you so much to the over 500,000 different people that donated and the hundreds of influential people that promoted the campaign! ” 

That’s not all. According to an Arbor Day representative, the quick $20 million fundraisings also make this campaign one of the fastest-growing environmental initiatives ever.
