Nintendo is known for its innovation in gaming hardware. From developing the first ever plus D-pad to revolutionizing handheld gaming, it has done everything. What’s even more astonishing is the fact that this company actually made a gaming handheld that had glassless 3d displays.

Nintendo’s every console had something in it that inspired others. From motion controls to remote play, and hybrid gaming setup, being the first is Nintendo’s thing. But this time, it seems Nintendo is doing something way after it has been introduced.

Nintendo is all ready to take its games to the future

Nintendo is internally working on Nintendo Switch 2, or whatever they plan to call the successor to their current hybrid console. This console if rumors are to be believed would be capable of running games in 4k. It is also being said that the console might even be powerful enough or boast a chipset that is cleverly designed to allow for ray tracing in Nintendo’s games.

Anyways, the biggest rumor came just a while ago, it claims that Nintendo along with working on their latest and upcoming console, is also working on a VR device. Notably, it is not being called a VR headset, but a VR device.

It seems like it would be a device that would come with a headset and it would not be compulsory for next-gen Switch but just an addition to enhance gamers’ experience.

This would not be very different from Playstation VR, which connected to Playstation 4 and Pro but also had a chipset of its own, to provide additional power to the console to run those games in VR.

The VR headset consists of two separate displays and a console that runs the same game on two different screens which means, it needs twice the power. It is also being said that there would be a feature to involve the second players in your games through their cell phones.

It is not yet clear how that would work, be we can only wonder for now.
