The year 2023 came with a lot of expectations for the Esports community. There were several titles lined up to kick off the new year with an amazing start. But it seems like only a few were able to finish the line in this race. Some fell short, and among them a prominent figure was Forspoken.

It was a game that was released around huge anticipation and hope from the community. But the game underperformed in the eyes of many and eventually succumbed to a place where people already have started to forget this AAA title. But are there any hopes that the game can revive in the near future?

Will Forspoken make a riveting comeback?

One thing that almost every person who consumes entertainment loves is comebacks. Let it be their favorite protagonist striking back to victory or their favorite sports team rising up from the shallows to win a cup; people always adore comebacks. We saw this very phenomenon in the case of Cyberpunk 2077. Like Forsporken, Cyberpunk was released with high rolling expectations.

Gamers expected Cyberpunk to be the next best open-world game with unique mechanisms. Many people considered it to be a rival for fan-favorite titles like GTA Online. But unfortunately, massive glitches coupled up with the player’s disappointment kicked the title from the pyramid of success.

A replica of the same could be seen recently in the case of Forspoken as well. The game was even expected to outshine the likes of Hogwarts Legacy, but it was not able to meet that mark.

Coming back to the case of Cyberpunk, the CD Projekt RED brainchild product was able to come back with a bang. This was thanks to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners web anime that was released on Netflix. The anime gave new life to the game, and it started performing quite well.

Forspoken, which is based on a magical world in the future embedded with concepts of dystopia, is actually quite intriguing, just like Cyberpunk. Certain changes surely are expected from the game.

And an adaptation into a narrative format for entertainment may work wonders for the title. This would give the game the needed boost to rise up from the depths that it has succumbed to.

Animated adaptations have witnessed massive growth among people in recent times. The success of Arcane, which was inspired by League of Legends and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are popular examples of such. Maybe Forspoken can rise up like a phoenix in the near future if Square Enix manages to roll out an impressive animated adaptation or even a live adaptation. The latter would be more difficult considering the setting of the game, but who knows? If the Last of Us could pull off a live remake with flying colors, so can Forspoken.

Of course, changes to the game should also be made, and maybe the game can even take inspiration from its series or movie counterpart. Though there has been no sign in this regard from Square Enix, these ideas may work wonders for the game.
