The large number of pre-orders for this sci-fi title demonstrates people’s enthusiasm to get their hands on it.

Furthermore, it became the top-selling game on Steam in a day of its release announcement. However, now the fans are becoming wary of their pre-order’s arrival for this title. Actions from the renowned US retailer Walmart have sparked controversy among fans who ordered the Constellation edition of Starfield through them.

Fan protests online about the cancellation of their pre-order

Recently, a fan shared their complaint about Walmart canceling their pre-order for the Starfield Constellation edition via a Reddit post. They shared, “Got an email, text, then a phone call from Walmart an hour ago. They told me my preorder was canceled on accident following a customer support call I had a few hours prior.” The fan complained about how at first the US retailer affirmed that the order would arrive but the order got canceled an hour later.

The fan contacted the US retailer back and after talking to multiple people, they got a definitive answer. Walmart informed the fan that the person who talked with the fan earlier about the order accidentally sent a cancel request for their order. Furthermore, there was no way to reprocess their order. This simple human mistake led to the fan losing out on the opportunity to play the game on day one.

The fan has shown his anger toward this upsetting situation. They also urged other people to check their pre-orders if they accidentally got canceled too. Fan’s complaint has found support from other gamers, who are showing their sympathy for their order.
