Playable games are coming to YouTube
The Wall Street Journal reports that YouTube is internally testing a product that enables users to play online games, signaling a desire to go beyond its current function as a platform for hosting videos and entering the world of easily playable and sharing games. Google asked staff members to test out Playables, a new YouTube product that gives consumers access to games on both mobile devices and desktop PCs.

The email stated that titles like Stack Bounce, an arcade game in which players use a bouncing ball to shatter levels of bricks, were available for testing. Both the YouTube website and YouTube app on mobile devices would allow users to play these games right away.
Reports have suggested that the new playable games will be both available on the PC as well as mobile devices, letting the users access the interactive games anywhere they want. One of YouTube’s representatives shared that the platform had been working for a while to introduce gaming elements in their product, they shared more saying “Gaming has long been a focus at YouTube. We’re always experimenting with new features, but have nothing to announce right now.”
