The 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare did end on an open ending note with Captain Price meeting station chief Kate Laswell to discuss the creation of Task Force 141 in preparation against the Russian terrorist Victor Zakhaev. Captain Price also reviewed the files of possible recruits with Laswell: Garrick, John “Soap” MacTavish, and Simon “Ghost” Riley.
The 2022 game might explore this idea further. And with the upcoming Vanguard, the main campaign is said to revolve around the formation of Task Force One during the events of the story. It will be interesting to see how Activision includes all of these together if the leak is deemed true.
