Reports Suggest Elden Ring Will Sell Millions of Copies in The First Five Weeks Itself

The mega-successful trilogy of Dark Souls has birthed an entire genre, which continues to add new names to its list. These hardcore RPG titles offer a unique experience by sending you into a mystical world full of daunting monsters. The feeling of helplessness, followed by euphoria, when you make it past a world boss, serves as the most iconic aspect of the series.

Developers FromSoftware offered this experience in all its titles, and now the studio is ready to revisit the Souls franchise. However, the latest game from the company carries a different name in ‘Elden Ring.’

The studio roped in one of the most iconic writers of the modern era, George R.R Martin, who created the astonishing universe of Game of Thrones. The legendary writer offered his hand in crafting the lore for the upcoming title.

Dark Souls was released almost a decade ago, which has left a void in the community for another iteration. In the downtime, FromSoftware worked out other titles instead, which only left the fans wanting more. Finally, in 2021, the developers have unfurled the latest project in that beloved universe.

Report from wccftech sheds light on the developer’s expectations following the successful releases of other titles. The teams expect the sales figure to go past the 4 million mark, as each iteration performed exceptionally better than its predecessor.

Dark Souls 3 managed to sell 3 million copies, while Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice bumped the number to 3.8 million. If this trend proves to be true, then Elden Ring’s performance will definitely break every single record of the company’s history.

Elden Ring is preparing to be the biggest release of 2022. The title is expected to be launched on February 25, 2022, and it is already being named as a serious candidate for Game of the year.
