The remake of the fan-favorite game created history by breaking a record on Steam, the popular online gaming store. Resident Evil 4 was launched on March 24, 2023. On the very same day, the game etched itself a record. The game on Steam had a whooping concurrent player score of 118,000.

This number is the highest for a game in the Resident Evil franchise. Moreover, the remake accomplishing this on its launch day is a massive achievement for the franchise. Earlier, Resident Evil Village held the record with 106,631 concurrent players.
