For the uninitiated ones, Kentucky Derby is a decades old horse race which is held almost always on the first Saturday of May every year. The entire tournament which runs for two weeks, takes place in Louisville, Kentucky in the United States. It’s a Grades I competition for three year old Thoroughbreds, covering a distance of one and a quarter miles at Churchill Downs.

On Saturday, the race saw a miracle happening in the competition’s history. It’s because the most unlikely contender won the race in the end. And it was none other than a horse named Rich Strike, ridden by Sonny Leon.

Yes, ultimately it happened in Louisville as Rich Strike took the top spot defying the longest odds compared to all the other horses.
