A little heartbreaking news for all the fans of the LCS championship 2021. Riot has canceled the sold-out League of Legends live finale due to the sudden hike in COVID cases in the United States. Despite the brilliant start, fans have to wait till 2022 to see the live stage action again.

Riot Games announced that all championship matches will take place at the LCS Arena in beautiful Los Angeles, as they don’t want to jeopardize the health of staff members, teams, and fans. The studio is working with the perinatal center for all the refunds processes and they will share all the required details very soon. All the current ticket holders of the live stage will be provided a complete refund.

”We sincerely hoped to reunite with all our passionate fans at what was to be a sold-out celebration of our game. Unfortunately, the persistent and rapid spread of the COVID-19 delta variant has forced us to the table that reunion for now. Our fans deserve nothing less than a high-quality LCS event experience full of excitement, connectivity, and joy. After assessing the risk, no set of protocols or plans allowed us to deliver that grand event without jeopardizing the health of our team, fans, and staff.” Riot said.

The rise in the COVID-19 Delta variant is a big concern In LCS Championship

The COVID-19 pandemic has risen again in the US, leading to a sudden hike in cases. In such a situation, the sudden and disappointing news of the cancellation looks like a wise decision, as nothing is more important than the health of team members as well as the audience.

Prior to this cancellation announcement, The LCS championship 2021 finale was going to be a grand hit thanks to the LCS fan fest. The fan fest was created in partnership with GrubHub. This would be a meeting point for all the fans and press to enjoy local food as well as be a part of many fun and exciting activities hosted by the LCS team and their sponsor.
