Fortnite is the hottest battle royale title right now. This Epic Games title has amassed fans like no other video game has before. The main source of revenue is generated from in-app purchases as the title is free-to-play. And looks like Epic Games is going to increase the prices in multiple countries to keep their revenue high. Fans are showing negative reactions to this rise in prices.

Epic Games going to increase the prices of Fortnite V-Bucks in multiple countries

In a recent blog post, Epic Games revealed the updated prices of the V-Bucks. This in-game currency is the way players are able to buy items and weapons of their choice. However, looks like Fortnite players in the United Kingdom and Canada would have to get their items a slightly higher prices now.

And the Fans in Mexico will get this in-game currency at a marginally lowered price. Epic Games have cited inflation and currency fluctuations as their reasons for increasing prices.

The prices of packs like Dark Reflections, Summer Legends, Magma Masters, etc., will also be changed when they come back in future rotations. However, the good news for the fans in these countries is that the Fortnite Crew subscription price will remain the same at £9.99 British Pounds ($12.69 USD), $15.99 Canadian Dollars ($12.07 USD), and $249 Mexican Pesos ($14.54 USD).

But these fluctuations in prices have not boded well with the fans. While some fans are outright criticizing Epic Games, some fans are sarcastically supporting the decision.

The prices in the UK have gone up by almost 9%. And looking at the majority of the audience of Fortnite comes from the younger generation, fans are worried this would put monetary stress on parents. Some other players even called the company ‘greedy’ for increasing the burden on players, even with their great returns.

Multiple fans have also come forward to sarcastically call this a “W for Epic Games” to get richer.
