Although initially, fans absolutely didn’t like the concept of a port of RDR on the PS4, the trailer for the PS4 version of this game got three times more dislikes than it got likes on YouTube. This title was also ported to Nintendo Switch as well. Fans dearly wanted a remastered version of RDR. But instead, they got a port for slightly older and less compatible devices. This is the main reason for these unwelcoming behaviors from the fans.
On the other hand, the prequel to this title, RDR 2, was released in 2018. Initially, the game was released only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but after a year, it was also launched on Windows and Stadia. This game is the biggest hit of the franchise, as it surpassed the lifetime sales of RDR in just two weeks. Not only that, but this legendary title generated a staggering $725 million in just its opening weekend.
