Shawn Fonteno aka Franklin Clinton from GTA V recently witnessed a book launch based on his journey from a rapper to a famous gaming personality. The book shows how he became a renowned person after starting with Rockstar in one of the most iconic games to ever release.

However, many of you would be shocked to know that the actor initially didn’t know he was actually a part of GTA V. Yes, that’s right. In fact, during a recent interview, Shawn Fonteno shared some interesting experiences from his days of shooting for the game during the development phase.

However, he didn’t actually know that he was, in fact, working on GTA V. In a recent interview, Fonteno revealed that he couldn’t believe it when he first got to know about this huge detail. And that, too, a year after shooting endless scenes for the game.

“Halfway through filming maybe it took me a year to start really getting in the groove of it. That’s when I found out I was working with Grand Theft Auto. Because they outed they outed uh the Michael character, and I said ‘we working on m*****f****ng Grand Theft Auto 5? Oh s**t!'”

It’s also because previously when he began to shoot for GTA V, he was told the game’s name was Paradise. However, it wasn’t the case at all, as he revealed in this interview.

Simply put, he seemed to have almost lost the role of Franklin due to this assumption. But after knowing the real deal, he was extremely excited and happy, to say the least.

Franklin also said that this strategy of Rockstar of not telling him about the title, initially, was quite unpredictable. And he said that the developing team knows how to proceed with the development by preventing leaks using such methods.

“It took about a year, I was always thinking Paradise, a video game called Paradise. I’m telling you when I tell you Rockstar is sharp, they (are) sharp man”.
