However, it looks like the biggest detail, by far, on GTA 6 is regarding its overall development cost. That’s because of the unbelievable amount which was recently revealed by several reputed insiders. First shared by the account vx-underground, and later reported by TweakTown‘s Derek Strickland, GTA 6 is rumored to have a total budget of over $2 billion.

Per the report, the said amount is being allocated for the multi-year development of the base game version. Then there are the areas of marketing, publishing, and distribution as well. Furthermore, the amount will be spent on creating new content alongside an online mode.

Will Rockstar Deliver a Masterpiece in GTA 6 Despite the Biggest Leak in Gaming History?

Yes, it’s highly surprising, but that’s what the insiders have shared so far. Unless there comes an official statement from the makers, gaming enthusiasts will surely keep scratching their heads over the exponential production cost of GTA 6. For now, one can say that this title will be the most expensive video game ever made. It could easily surpass Star Citizen‘s current record of over $400 million.
