The theory of the title featuring an African refugee makes a lot of sense. The narrative of the series has been a comment on imperialism and the struggles for freedom. Considering Codename Red to be the last of the classic RPG format, makers might want to leave a strong social commentary with the story as well. Adding a strong character of a female Samurai might just be the needed icing on the cake.

Over the years, fans believe the franchise has lost its aesthetic charm while trying to cater to larger audiences. The open world maps were also heavily criticized by the gamers being called ’empty’. Thus the ongoing phase is a redemption period for the classic action-adventure title. The title had a cult following since its inception. With efforts such as adapting to the old-school RPG formats the makers are aiming to pull off the nostalgic card.
