Running Ray Tracing on Guardians of the Galaxy Will Require a Heavy Duty GPU

The graphic requirements for Guardians of The Galaxy have just been released, and it seems like it is not for any average GPU device to run. NVIDIA has released the requirements for PCs to run the game with or without Ray Tracing. The developer, Eidos Montreal, has also released some behind-the-scenes footage of RTX gameplay. The game will support DLSS up-scaling and Ray Traced reflections on PC.

Guardians of the Galaxy PC requirements

The game will need at least NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU along with Intel Core i5-9400 to run ray tracing at its lowest detail in 1080p. The game can run at 1440p in high detail with NVIDIA RTX 3070 and Core i5-106000/Ryzen5/3600X. For Ultra settings at 4K resolution, NVIDIA recommends RTX 3080 with 10GB VRAM and Core i7-107000/Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. Full system requirements recommended by NVIDIA are mentioned in the sheet below.

RTX behind-the-scenes gameplay

Eidos Montreal today has just released exclusive new behind-the-scenes gameplay footage for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The video details how the game would employ NVIDIA DLSS and ray tracing on PC. The game looks phenomenal in the video and will definitely deliver its best performance on any high-end PC.

Besides this, the developers have also posted an update about the size of the game as well. Previously, people started believing that the size of the game would be well beyond 127 GB, which is as massive as Microsoft Flight Simulator. However, Square Enix has clarified on Twitter that the final file size was yet to be confirmed and should be approximately 80GB at launch.

Guardians of the Galaxy is releasing on October 26 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
