PlayStation Showcase coming before another fest

In a recent Twitch stream, journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb gave a piece of much-awaited news to PlayStation fans. He stated the PlayStation Showcase may be coming to fans in May or in early June. He also said whatever date Sony decides from the showcase, it surely will be before the Summer Game Fest.

“I would probably safely say that’s May at this point, but in general I’m going to continue saying before Summer Game Fest because that’s just the safest way of doing it,” Grubb said.

This news however is not yet confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, if the rumors are true, fans would definitely get a look at the many new games coming to PlayStation.

Games coming to the Showcase

The first rumored title that may be shown in the showcase is definitely going to be Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While Insomniac Games is asking the fans to be patient and let them cook, surely fans would expect them to show some results. First announced at the PlayStation Showcase event in 2021, the game was slated for a Fall 2023 release.

It has been over two years since the announcement of the sequel and nothing to show. The rumored Showcase will be an excellent opportunity for Insomniac to satiate the fans and keep the hype going for the sequel.

Fans also expect Mortal Kombat 12 to be shown. The CEO of Warner Bros. confirmed that they will release Mortal Kombat this year. Many rumors currently claim that NetherRealm Studios will present the game next month at the PlayStation Showcase.
