Sega has recently filed a trademark for the name “Sonic Frontier” in both English and Japanese. Well, it seems like Sega is dropping some major hints for its upcoming open-world title with this trademark; the open-world new game that was teased way back in May 2021 has a similar style as Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Earlier, Sega used the name “Sonic Ranger” for this upcoming title but then after some months a leaker revealed that for some unknown reason they had decided to change the name to “Sonic Frontier.” This was way before Sega filled the trademark.
So now, it seems like Sonic Frontier is the real deal here. And it’s worth noting that we still don’t have any kind of official word on the title of the game, and jumping into wild speculations right now wouldn’t be the best idea.

Sega Sonic Frontier is on the way?
Since the initial announcement was made way back in May this year, Sega hasn’t really disclosed any details about the game yet. There is absolutely nothing on the gameplay style or the features of the game to go on.
Moreover, Sega is yet to officially announce the name of the upcoming title. But with this trademark, it seems like more details are on their way and players will get some updates very soon; the upcoming Game Awards on December 9 is the best place to drop some extra details about the upcoming Sonic title.

Hopefully, the first look at Sega’s Sonic Frontier is worth all this wait.
