The Last of Us has been a critically acclaimed series and very well-received by fans. The HBO series based on the video game of the same name will not see a revival until 2025. As the first season left fans throbbing for more on what happens to Ellie and Joel, rumors on the possible cast for the next season are running rampant. While it is already known that Ellie will continue her pivotal role in Season 2, fans cannot wait to know more about Abby. In a recent video, producer Craig Mazin revealed that no names have been finalized for the role of the antagonist Abby.

The first season of the series had been hugely successful and fans cannot wait for the second season to air.

The Last of Us 2 sold more than 2.8 million copies worldwide within the first month of release. With such a huge number of fans to satiate, the live adaptation by HBO exceeded many expectations. The tragedy that struck Abby during the first season is likely to make her arc in the next and fans can’t wait to know more about the face that may portray the character who is guided by vengeance.

Spanning over 8 hours in total, Season 1 of the series has been able to give fans a memorable time. While the gaming community already has more or less knowledge of what Season 2 will hold for them, followers of the series still need to wait two more excruciating years to witness Abby confronting Joel.

Possible faces for Abby in Season 2

Speculations regarding the cast are high, but it seems that the producers have still not pinpointed any names for Abby. The popular names that fans have been reeling for are Shannon Berry and Katy O’Brian. While Katy, The Mandalorian star, looks to be a good fit for the role of Abby, given the physical similarities, fans of Berry are adamant that only she can give life to the complex mind of Abby. However, the official Twitter handle of The Last of Us seems to put an end to the rumors circulating.

In a recent YouTube video, Craig Mazin, the co-writer of the popular series was seen confronting rumors surrounding the choice for Abby in the next season. In an episode of Happy Sad Confused, Mazin was seen talking about the next season and its potential cast. Amidst raging fan feud on whether Berry or O’Brian will be seen in the next season as Abby, Mazin was heard to be blatant that no names have been selected yet. “No one has been cast,”, said Mazin.

Such a declaration by one of the main creators of the series has yet again shoved fans into a downward spiral debating the better choice among the two.
