Silent Hill Will Receive a Sequel Says Developer of the Franchise

The stories from Konami’s mega successful franchise ‘Silent Hill’ has delivered bone chilling experiences. It has been far too long since the studio added a sequel to this fan-favorite title. The last advent with PT seemed like one of the most prominent tiles, but sadly it never saw the light of the day. However, rumors attributed this to a conflict of interest between Kojima and Konami.
It looks like the gaming studio is making major headways to venture back in the horror genre. Now, a member from the studio has come forward hinting at sequel as the upcoming project.

Developer of the title hints at a new project
PT should have been the follow up title for Silent Hill, but as mentioned earlier, things did not pan out. However, the 20 minute gameplay trailer for the title broke the internet. It garnered millions of views on YouTube, and it quickly became the talk of the town. Originally the title was going to serve as the debut project for Norman Reedus as the lead character.
Now one of the developers of the original series has offered an interesting insight that hints at a new game. Art director Masahiro Ito took to Twitter to share his thoughts about a title that is being worked on.

This iconic series has been nothing short of a masterpiece, having inspired a whole new generation of horror fans. The franchise housed a deadly combo of a terrifying plot, with extremely well written storyline, backed by an unforgettable musical score. It delivered a memorable experience that has served as an inspiration for a mega-successful title in ‘The Medium.’

Jacek Zieba, producer of the game, also shared his deep love for the franchise and how it helped him to craft the universe of his game.
“In our opinion, Silent Hill 2 is one of the best horror games ever. Both Silent Hill 2 and the Silent Hill series have always been a great inspiration for us as we approach psychological horrors”
He continued,” With The Medium, Silent Hill 2 was one of the main inspirations when it comes to the atmosphere of the game. When playing The Medium, players who are familiar with the Silent Hill series should experience similar themes and aesthetics in our game, especially in the context of the overall atmosphere.”

This franchise has helped popularize psychological horror games, and things would have not been the same without it. This is an opportune moment for Konami to add another sequel in the revered franchise. The capabilities of modern day technologies and powerful next-gen hardware can soar help the franchise soar to new heights of success.
