As per the latest report, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will soon cross the figure of $300 million global collection. That’s absolutely unbelievable as no one would’ve expected it to perform this good. Well, it’s not just good anymore, it’s fantastic!

The latest film is the second installment in its cinematic franchise, based on the fan favorite speedster Sonic. Published by Sega, it succeeds its predecessor that arrived in 2020 and became an instant hit among the viewers.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Flower and continues the story from where the first part ended. Actor Ben Schwartz returns in the lead role as the voice for the central character. Idris Elba and Jim Carrey are also key parts of this entry. Other cast members include the likes of James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and Lee Majdoub.

Now speaking of its box office run, then Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has shattered all the predictions and expectations so far. Thanks to the charm of the blue, furry speedster, it’s now approaching the mark of $300 million globally. As reported by MyNintendoNews, the movie has performed very well in regions like the UK, apart from the US.

As of this writing, the worldwide earnings of the film stand at $287.8 million, including both the domestic and overseas collections. So it’s surely going to touch the three hundred figure sooner than later, in coming days. Sega must be celebrating right now and they should be. After all, their popular gaming character is making them proud of new achievements.
