Sony Believes PlayStation Portal Is a Different Proposition in the Industry Where Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck Exist

PlayStation Portal is going to be a symbol of Sony being a forward thinker in the industry. This next-generation upcoming console is aimed to bring a true revolution for disabled gamers. Not many months ago Sony announced this upcoming console PlayStation Portal, which will have an exclusive accessibility controller.

In the eSports industry, companies are always aiming to release a device, which is out of the box. But no other gaming giant ever thought to develop something that vanishes the marginalization of disabled gamers. Sony’s PlayStation Portal will be the only device that allows disabled people to try out gaming.

Since Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Portal is an amalgamation of both controller and screen, critics believed that it will be somehow similar to Nintendo Switch and Valve’s Steam Deck. However, Sony offered a different statement as they believed this next-generation gaming device would be something completely new in the industry- “It’s a different proposition and really just something unique for the PlayStation audience,”

In the justification, Sony boss Eric Lempel said that PlayStation Portal will directly use the internet to send gaming signals to the device. Players will not need any cable to connect the device to any screen or television.

However, streaming games might not be possible from the PS cloud gaming system. But PS Portal is not meant for that. Lempel said– “ it would benefit those who wanted to play games on their sofa while a partner watched TV, or to play games in a different room.” Sony executive’s comment helped fans to understand how PS Portal will be a completely new device, which is truly one of a kind.

Crucial details about the PlayStation Portal

Sony’s PS Portal is yet to be released but the pre-ordering started yesterday. This device will offer an 8-inch LCD screen with 60FPS and 1080p display. PS Portal will have a 3.5mm audio jack too. However, this device will not have any Bluetooth connectivity. But assumed 6E Wi-Fi Support might help players figure out an unbelievably good gaming experience in it.

As mentioned PS Portal won’t support PS cloud streaming or PSVR 2 games. However, ultra-low SoC chip is convincing to offer speedy accessibility.
