It even got a sequel, a movie, and two manga adaptations. Following these, the franchise eventually just didn’t continue. However, the horror franchise is set to make a comeback!

Sony’s famous horror franchise Siren is returning for fans

Recently, a trusted source revealed that Sony’s popular franchise Siren might make its comeback with another exclusive title. The rumors about Sony’s recent application for filling the trademark for its Siren series hinted to fans about its return. Sony recently fileda trademark for the series, hinting at their interest in reviving the series. In their trademark description, Sony mentioned entering into a new world, which excited fans speculating about a new theme and narrative in the upcoming Siren title.

Fans felt assured when Sony released the original soundtrack for Siren back on the 1st of August to mark its 20th anniversary. While Sony hasn’t spilled more beans about their upcoming Siren title, they did further release a remastered version of the original Siren track. Whether it’s a reboot, or a new installment in the exisitng series, fans expect it to be equally spine-chilling and horrifying like its predecessors.

Keiichiro Toyama, the Siren designer, is also the creator of Silent Hill. There are a total of three titles in this franchise, known as Siren, Forbidden Siren 2 and Siren: Blood Curse. Siren: Blood Curse is a re-imagination of the franchise’s debut title. This title was exclusively released for PlayStation 3. Although the game is globally popular as Siren, this horror franchise is also known as Forbidden Siren in Europe.

Siren Japanese Studio and Project Siren Team collaborated to develop this fan favorite franchise. The titles for PlayStation 2 were published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Siren: The Call of the Red Sea is one of the famous Manga adaptations of this horror game. Siren franchise celebrated its 15th anniversary with another ongoing Manga series titled Siren: reBIRTH, which was published in 2018.  There is also a film adaptation of Siren, but it didn’t receive much love from the audience.

The news of an upcoming title from Sony’s horrifying and spine-chilling franchise Siren has surely excited the fans.
