It appears like the older games from the previous generation of PlayStation consoles are not performing as expected. Recently, many of the users have reported they are unable to boot PS1, PS3, and PS Vita classics from the past. Simply put, Sony has got another bug situation at the moment which is annoying the PlayStation users.

As reported by PushSquare, players recently revealed they were unable to boot older games such as the PS1 classic Chrono Cross. Following the re-release of the title for PS3 and PS Vita, when the users tried to play it, it was showing as unplayable.

Moreover, according to the players, this problem is arising due to a PlayStation Network bug. There were other users also on various forums that reported a similar situation.
It now seems like the issue is related with Sony’s database itself. What’s apparently happening is that the expiry dates of all the older PlayStation games have been reset to January 31st, 1969.

However, the main question that arises here is why there’s an expiry date at all for the games? Sony must definitely look into this matter as soon as possible. That way, players will be able to enjoy the classics once again, just like they used to. Otherwise, it won’t be a good sight for the company, especially ahead of the debut of its new PS Plus in June.

In other news, the PlayStation community is also gearing up for the arrival of the most awaited exclusives in 2022. Without a doubt, all eyes are currently set on the next entry in the God of War series. Ragnarok will be the direct sequel to the 2018 blockbuster from Santa Monica Studio. Initially, it was expected to come out last year, but then the developing team decided to push it further.
