“Cranky-Old Spider-man” – Across the Spider-Verse Actor Envisions Last Of Us Actor Pedro Pascal in Next Movie

Entertainment is a highly competitive industry, where true connections and relationships are a very rare sight. The friendship between The Last of Us actor Pedro Pascal and the recently released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Actor Oscar Isaac is one of these rare examples. 

 Earlier this year, Pedro won the heart of the internet with his immaculate portrayal of the iconic gaming character, Joel, in HBO’s The Last of Us. Since then, fans have been dying for seeing Pedro in other pop culture roles, and the recent tease for Sony’s Spider-Verse actor has kindled the fire to new heights.

During a recent interview with British GQ, Oscar Isaac was asked about his dream cast for the upcoming Spider-Verse movie. While acknowledging the brilliance of the production team in selecting the perfect actors for each character, Isaac couldn’t resist suggesting his close friend and fellow actor Pedro Pascal from The Last of Us, whose second season is currently in development.

Isaac proposed, “Let’s find something for him,” while envisioning Pascal as a unique addition to the Spider-Man franchise. Isaac, who acted as the character of Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099  in the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, hilariously imagined Pascal as a “cranky, old Spider-Person.”

The friendship between Isaac and Pascal traces back to their early days in the industry. Pascal shared in an interview with Wired that they first met back in 2005, they were working at “of-broadway” play and earning somewhere around $500 per week. Since then, their bond has only grown stronger, even starring together in the 2019 film Triple Frontier.

Reflecting on their friendship, Pascal fondly recalled many cherished memories, stating, “There’s so many. He’s so naughty.” Even in their on-camera appearances, the juvenile bond between the actors could be seen prominently. Both actors share common backgrounds as children of Latin immigrants, forging a deeper connection between them.

While it remains unconfirmed whether Pascal will join the cast of Spider-Verse, the thought of him being part of the franchise is undoubtedly an amazing possibility. If he makes an appearance, audiences can expect a truly spectacular sight. Pascal’s undeniable talent and Isaac’s playful endorsement will ensure an exciting addition to the Spider-Man universe.
