Call of Duty Modern Warfare series has been rebooted but not without iconic Ghost and Soap. Avid Modern Warfare fans know that this series would not be whole without them anyways. Developers created pretty faithful new versions of Ghost and Soap in this more “Modern” iteration of the series.

There’s no doubt about how much love the community holds for these characters and recently when someone unmasked Ghost during the campaign of Modern Warfare 2 and revealed his face to Call of Duty fans, the reactions were amusing, to say the least.

Simon Riley, more popularly known as Ghost to his fellow members of Task Force 141, is one of the several protagonists of this series. In one of the last couple of missions of Modern Warfare 2, he goes ahead and removes his mask to reveal his face to his teammates.

But his face is never shown to the players. So one curious gamer decided to show people what he looked like. It is not sure what one expected Ghost to look like, but it was definitely not the one shown. Nevertheless, fans have all stated their opinions, some supporting the concept, some confused, some having a little fun and some comparing him to the legendary Toy Story character.

Even though his face is never shown to us, there is a pretty detailed face model behind that mask and that just goes to show the amount of detail Infinity ward has put into this game.

Call of Duty is more than just Multiplayer

People usually think of the Call of Duty series as something more focussed on the multiplayer experience. But when developers go out of their way to put this much detail in their game’s assets, it just makes us reconsider our opinion about these games. Obviously, every developer puts a lot of effort into every game that they make. To a number of players, this might not even be very surprising. Infinity Ward actually changed the visual direction of Call of Duty games with Modern Warfare 2019. It was way more photorealistic than any Call of Duty before.

Other than the showing of a fan-favorite character’s face, Modern Warfare 2 has been in the news for various other things. For one, it’s the first CoD since World War II to release on Steam. And this return to Steam played a huge part in this game, becoming the fastest Call of Duty game ever to earn $1 billion.
