Steam removes popular Rockstar titles for unknown reasons
At around 1 PM EST, a lot of popular Rockstar titles mysteriously disappeared from Steam. Many players complained that a lot of popular games from the New York-based studio weren’t available. SteamDB, which tracks all the games present in the database of Steam, revealed the laundry list of titles that were retired from the platform. Most of these titles were part of Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto, and L.A. Noire bundles.
A lot of publishers such as EA, Epic Games, Ubisoft, and many others currently have their own marketplace, to sell the various games from their studios. This led to a lot of doubts about Rockstar Games finally pulling the plug on selling their titles on the Valve-owned platform. But before this rumor could catch fire, almost all games returned. However, the restoration came with another hilarious error.

Midnight Club 2 was one of Rockstar’s most popular titles in the racing genre. The game released in 2003 and it gained a cult following with other racing franchises from the early 2000s like Need for Speed and Burnout. The developers retired the game on Steam almost three years ago, but for a while it was back. While it got removed again within a few minutes, some players got to purchase it thanks to the error. Fans still don’t know about the cause of this issue, but the problem caused a lot of unnecessary confusion and hilarity.
