Super Nintendo World Finally Opens for Japan, Florida Opening Delayed to 2025

The world’s first Super Nintendo World has finally opened in Japan. The theme park located inside Universal Studios, in Osaka, Japan, opened on February 4, 2021. The Japanese government limited entry to only a few visitors and the waiting period is months long because of the pandemic precautions. moreover, visitors have to stay under a 10-day quarantine after the tour.

On a fresh note, Super Nintendo World Florida’s construction has finally resumed. Because of the pandemic, the construction had temporarily come to a halt. Universal had originally scheduled the theme-park opening in 2023, but the lockdown has forced them to delay it until early 2025.

Theme park enthusiast and YouTuber, Theme Park Wizard, posted a video on March 1, giving his viewers a sneak peek into Florida’s Super Nintendo World.

Inside Super Nintendo World, Florida

Florida’s version of the attraction will be based inside Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe. A more compact version of the Nintendo World planned for Hollywood is also under construction.

According to VGC, the smaller Hollywood version will open before the actual theme park. Epic Universe will be a third of its kind, after Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure.

In an interview with CNBC, Brian Roberts, chairperson, and CEO of NBCUniversal from Comcast informed that getting back on full pace may take several months. Comcast is the parent company that owns NBCUniversal. Restaffing the project and reassembling its contractors is the tougher part before the project gets back to the expected pace.

“The restart of construction of Epic Universe is a terrific moment for our employees and for our theme park business in Florida. It is our single-largest investment in the state and represents our enthusiasm for the spectacular park and the economic opportunities it will generate,” he mentioned.

According to Inside the Magic, Hollywood Nintendo park is comparatively smaller than its Japanese counterpart. Therefore, fans should expect to see a few signature rides missing in the Florida park.

In Theme Park Wizard’s video above, we can see Yoshi’s Adventure ride is missing. However, there are no confirmations on the matter yet.

A new Super Nintendo World is reportedly going to be constructed in Singapore, too. Let’s hope that the US Nintendo parks in California and Florida finish as soon as possible. After a year-long pandemic lockdown, what better refreshment than a week inside the beautiful Orlando Resort?
