Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Reveals He Will Consider Making a New Game On One Condition

It might be a little disheartening for all the Super Smash Bros fans as they may not see another sequel to the game. The world was introduced to the first Super Smash Bros. game in 1999. It has continued to entertain fans for many decades now.
In 2018, the developers launched the latest installment of this franchise: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
This game has enjoyed massive critical and commercial success. Eventually, the fans are hoping for a sequel since this game turned three this year. Recently, Masahiro Sakurai shared that it’s very unlikely that there will be a sequel to the same because there are no plans for any upcoming games in the series.

For the fans who are unfamiliar with Masahiro Sakurai, he is the creative director of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the godfather of the entire franchise.
On the 22nd December 2021, Sakurai shared this disheartening news. However, there’s still a ray of hope for a sequel to this series and it totally depends on Nintendo. According to reports, he said,
“I can’t really think about future prospects at the moment. If Nintendo decides they want to make another one and offers me the job, that’s when I’d start thinking about it.”

It’s been a while since the developers have released the latest installment. Now, fans want something new. This might be very upsetting for some fans but Sakurai has also expressed the desire to retire from gaming development and the Super Smash franchise.
As of now, fans can only hope and wait for the developers to make some announcement regarding the next Super Smash Bros. game.
