Take-Two CEO Reflects on the Sheer Dedication and Challenges Behind Developing GTA 6, Says -“We Adopt Our Hits Like They’re Part of Us”

Take-Two CEO assures GTA 6 will be something brand new and, at the same time, have a fine touch of the past, and fans are going crazy.

Rockstar has always been on its best behavior when it came to publishing the Grand Theft Auto series. With every game released in the market, the story, graphics, mechanics, and overall aspects never failed to impress fans. However, the community always had one appeal, and that was to release GTA 6. After all, Rockstar released GTA 5 in 2013, depriving fans of the new title for almost a decade. So what exactly could be the problem?

Well, for starters, we have Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick explaining how they are looking to create GTA 6. While they want it to have a never seen before look, they are still held back to the past.

It is no secret that Rockstar has been working hard to develop GTA 6. Despite being tight-lipped about the whole thing, the company promised fans a masterpiece, and so asked for patience in return. However, it has been a rough patch for the community as the wait has been too long.

Looking at this, Take-Two’s CEO sparred some words about their upcoming sequel. He was featured on Good Time Show podcast, talking about the future of GTA 6.

“In the entertainment business, we adopt our hits like they’re part of us, they’re part of our family, you know, we have a great affinity for them and we take it personally if people screw around with them like it’s not okay if the creators make a choice that is inconsistent with how we think these hits should be developed,” Zelnick revealed when asked.

Then, he explained how the team wanted a Midas touch for GTA 6. “It needs to be something you’ve never seen before on one hand, and it needs to reflect the feeling that we have about Grand Theft Auto, and that’s a big challenge for the team,” something that he stressed.

And not to forget that recent earnings call where the CEO revealed a massive line-up for 2024. According to reports, GTA 6 will release somewhere around 2024, with a few more titles here and there. But the real question is, will it have any other connection apart from being based in Vice City? Only time will help us understand.
