Take-Two CEO Shares the “Emotional Impact” of GTA 6 Leaks on the Team

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto is one of the most prestigious titles to ever exist in the video gaming community. Moreover, GTA V has been a title that has brought in a huge audience, and the same audience got a sneak peek into GTA 6 through leaks. However, the leaks didn’t go well with the video game’s team on an emotional level.

GTA has been a larger-than-life personality that has epic titles being played in the present times as well. The story, the characters, and the undeniable adrenaline-pumping action keep gamers excited and engrossed in the game. This becomes a positive reason for gamers to demand the next installment in the series.

A leak from September 2022 had taken the community by surprise. Following this, Rockstar Games released their statement talking about how the leak would not hinder the developments. Moreover, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick gives his views on the leak and how it affected the team.

Take-Two CEO speaks on the effects of the GTA 6 leak from last year

Developing a game is always a herculean task for the workforce behind it. From the biggest to the minutest detail, everything is tried to be polished to perfection by the developers. Understandably, when leaks do surface, allegedly spoiling the excitement of it, it does hurt developers.

As reported by the media organization IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick addressed the issue of the leaks and how they affected the workforce. He said, “We take leaks very seriously indeed and they disappoint all of us, it’s really frustrating and upsetting to the team.” He continued, “However as a business matter we’re not affected. But as a personal matter and an emotional matter, our teams are affected.”

Even though a leak can be well taken by the community and excite them, it can affect the people dedicating their efforts. It would be celebratory for the community to get an official announcement on GTA 6 from the authorities.

Grand Theft Auto IP records staggering sales figures

While GTA 6 might take some time to arrive in the community, GTA as a franchise has done a marvelous job in the community. As told by the Twitter account Ben (@videotech_) Grand Theft Auto IP has sold around 345 million copies and aiming to take this figure to 400 million.

Moreover, GTA 5 has alone sold 175 million copies across both digital and physical platforms. Thus, one can think of these figures skyrocketing once GTA 6 steps into the community.
